OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 9, 2017) — Smokers across Oklahoma are encouraged to quit tobacco for a day, or a lifetime, during the Great American Smokeout (GASO) on November 16. Since 1970, the event has symbolized a new beginning for tobacco users around the country.

Last year, hundreds of Oklahomans utilized Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline services during GASO. Each year, millions of Americans participate in the event by putting down their cigarettes.

Colcord, OK (November 7, 2017) – Colcord Public School District was honored Tuesday for their efforts to improve health through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Healthy School District Incentive Grant program.

To receive the $3,000 incentive grant, Colcord Public Schools put a variety of policies and strategies in place to promote health and wellness for students and staff. The district used the grant funds for sidewalk repair, fencing and signage to improve safety of students.

Colcord, OK (November 7, 2017) – Moseley Public School District was honored Tuesday for their efforts to improve health through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Healthy School District Incentive Grant program.

To receive the $1,500 incentive grant, Moseley Public Schools put a variety of policies and strategies in place to promote health and wellness for students and staff. The district used the grant funds to purchase PE equipment and supplies.

Ripley, OK (November 8, 2017) – Ripley Public School District was honored Wednesday for their efforts to improve health through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Healthy School District Incentive Grant program.

To receive the $3,000 incentive grant, Ripley Public Schools put a variety of policies and strategies in place to promote health and wellness for students and staff. The district used the grant funds to purchase water bottle filling stations to promote water consumption for students and staff.  

South Coffeyville, OK (November 8, 2017) – South Coffeyville Public School District was honored Wednesday for their efforts to improve health through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Healthy School District Incentive Grant program.
