Rescue is a TSET grantee supporting the TSET Healthy Youth Initiative, educating Oklahoma youth about the dangers of tobacco use and obesity. The TSET Healthy Youth Initiative is a statewide program focused on preventing and reducing tobacco use and obesity for Oklahomans ages 13-18.
Free The Night
Previously, Rescue and TSET partnered on the Free the Night campaign, which promoted smokefree places of entertainment for young adults. Free The Night encouraged voluntary smokefree policies in bars and clubs and worked with bar owners to survey patrons to determine support for smokefree environments. Generally, at least 70% of patrons agree that tobacco-free bars and clubs are preferable.
Free The Night was a statewide campaign in Oklahoma dedicated to supporting voluntary policy for smokefree bars and clubs. All employees and customers have the right to a healthy environment and should have the freedom to enjoy the night out without toxic secondhand smoke. Free The Night engaged in community outreach to bar owners and patrons to inform them about the benefits of smokefree air, as well as supporting bar owners who are interested in making their bar or club smokefree. This work continues on through Tobacco Stops With Me, a program of TSET.
