Enjoying a bottle of your favorite fizzy beverage may not seem like much, but when you add up the amount of sugar you drink in a day, the results may shock you.

“Not all drinks are created equal,” said Miranda Manning, registered dietitian and nutrition coordinator for the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s  Center for the Advancement of Wellness.

Seminole, OK (February 17, 2017) – Seminole Public School District was honored on Friday for their efforts to improve health through the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Healthy School District Incentive Grant program.

To receive the $5,000 incentive grant, Seminole Public Schools put a variety of policies and strategies in place to promote health and wellness for students and staff.  The district will use grant funds to purchase playground and physical education equipment. 

Helpline Offers FREE Support to Quit Your Own Way

OKLAHOMA CITY – Feb. 17, 2017 – The benefits of quitting smokeless tobacco are endless. Throughout Through With Chew Week, February 19-25, smokeless tobacco users are encouraged to explore the services offered by the Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline, a program of the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET).

Working together, scientists from Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation are advancing adult stem cell research to treat some of today’s most devastating diseases.

Jenks, Oklahoma (February 10, 2017) – Two Jenks elementary schools were honored Friday for their efforts to promote health for students, teachers and staff.

Jenks East and Jenks West elementary schools were both recognized for adopting healthy policies and putting them into practice. Both schools received a Healthy School Incentive Grant from TSET. Jenks West is now the second school to meet criteria for a “3-star school” within the incentive grant program.
