TSET: Creating a State of Health in Oklahoma

Established by voters, the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) is a state grantmaking trust devoted to preventing cancer and cardiovascular disease, Oklahoma's leading causes of death. By awarding grants to schools, communities, state agencies and partner organizations, TSET works to improve the health of Oklahoma's citizens. It also funds research and emerging opportunities in the public and private sectors. TSET initiatives are addressing Oklahoma's most pressing public health issues — and creating healthier places for all Oklahomans to live, work, learn and play.

Recently, an independent study was conducted to determine TSET’s impact on the health of Oklahomans. Researchers concluded that, because of TSET’s investments in grants and programs, Oklahoma’s smoking rate has dropped 10x faster than similar states. Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Accountant will be assigned responsibilities involving professional level work in the maintenance, analysis, interpretation and management of financial accounting data.  This includes the preparation and posting of various journals, ledgers and accounts, analysis and presentation of financial data, and preparation of financial statements and expenditure reports, review and approval of various vouchers and invoices for payment, analyzing budget requirements, preparing payroll data, allocation of funds to various accounts or functions, preparing purchase orders and change orders, and other similar activities.
